CALLING ALL POETS!

To commemorate National Poetry Month, April 2014, the Raritan Valley Federation of Libraries will publish its 2nd annual Poetry Month Celebration Anthology. This year’s theme will be “Our Town”, commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the play by Thornton Wilder. This can be used as an inspiration, but is not a required poem subject. We will give away one pair of tickets per library to “Our Town” by Thornton Wilder at the George Street Playhouse to the poet who best uses the “Our Town” theme.

Middlesex poets whose work is chosen for the Anthology will be invited to read at the Poetry Celebration Event at the New Brunswick Public Library.  The reading celebration will take place on Monday, April 28th in the Carl T. Valenti Community Room.

Participating libraries include: Bernards Township, Bernardsville, Dunellen, Middlesex, New Brunswick and Raritan.   For details on submitting poems, a Poetry Submission Form is available at the Library’s Reference Desk or it can be downloaded below.

For more information, interested persons can call the library at 732-356-6602, press the number for reference. The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 7th.
